Bio: Company Biography: Bores is a family business begun as a partnership in 1988 to provide expert training and consultancy in the technical field of DSP. Over the years the scope of expertise has expanded, and in 2020 James took over leadership of the company to add cyber and information security consultancy and services with the newly incorporated entity. Throughout, Bores has focused on building close relationships with clients and dedicating time to listen to and understand client business and culture to guide in building appropriate and effective security processes and solutions. Alongside consultancy and training, Bores provides managed vulnerability management services, threat profile assessment, and cyber security incident response tabletop and wargame exercises.


Personal Biography: Cyber security professional James Bore works with organisations and individuals to understand their threat profile, enhance their security posture, and build appropriate and effective security culture and programmes.

He volunteers time mentoring newcomers to the field and those wanting to break in, and teaches with the CAPSLOCK award-winning cyber security training academy.


He has written published works on future cyber security threats and the impact of the pandemic, along with less academic works on pathways in and an entry in O’Reilly’s 97 Things to Know series.

With an open and informative approach to his topic, James is known for making the technical understandable and relatable.
