London, Friday 8 May 2026, Close Protection World is inviting UK fireservice personnel who are considering a future move into the private security and close protection sector to attend the CPWorld Summer Conference in London free of charge.
Fire service professionals bring a strong operational skill set: composure under pressure, public protection, incident assessment, teamwork, communication, safety culture and disciplined decision-making. These attributes are directly relevant in many areas of the private security and close protection world, particularly where trust, professionalism and calm judgement are essential.
Within the fire sector, there is no single national resettlement scheme equivalent to the military model, but there are official career development routes and progression resources. The National Fire Chiefs Council’s Working in the Fire Sector platform and Career Pathways resource are designed to help people understand the many and varied roles available across the service and support development and progression for those already working within fire and rescue.
For personnel who are now looking beyond the service and assessing whether private security may be a serious next step, the CPWorld Summer Conference offers the chance to engage directly with the sector. Attendees can hear from speakers, meet exhibitors and training providers, and better understand the standards, culture and opportunities within close protection and the wider commercial security environment.
UK fire service personnel who are considering a move into private security or close protection are invited to attend free of charge. To secure a free ticket, please email admin@closeprotectionworld.com from your work email address so that your fire and rescue service affiliation can be verified.
